Young Beautiful in a Hurry

Young Beautiful in a Hurry is a band dedicated to bringing you all-organic, free-range, thoroughbred rock/pop, with an infusion of glam, you haven’t heard this side of the late 70s.

A Long walk to the beach or A brief 6 hours of zen

Dear Entourage,

Brendan here. Yesterday, I walked somewhere in the ball park of 12 square miles. From Culver City to Playa del Rey. There is a bike path not to far from where I live, and I thought I’d stretch my legs and clear my head before tonight’s Record Release + Debutant ball.

I’ve been stressing out about the show. Trying to get into every last detail, from the performance to the merch, and earlier this week I realized there wasn’t much left to do, except not spontaneously combust. So Albert, (the gentleman playing acoustic guitar in the group) said I should take an absurdly long walk to cleanse my palette. And it did just that. So here are some little things I saw along the way…mostly flowers and odd things. But it was a fantastic walk, and it was nice to see all sorts of little things, tucked away in big fat Los Angeles, a place I think many of us take for granted. Here goes:

I liked how the ferns were growing out of the wooden parts of this underpass.

Wacky spikey balls. !!!

Giant succulents plus long chewable strands of grass. Perfect for sittin’ on the fence.

A magical and seemingly random shrine to Shiva! I took this shot through a chain link fence. Very cool.

Pretty Colors.

Even more pretty colors!

This was a wacky little deck in the middle of a ginormous wall, of some kind of industrial complex or factory. I thought it would be a cool place to take your break if you worked in there. There were no stairs, just a door. Reminds me of Jurassic Park for some reason. Then again, most things remind me of Jurassic Park.

Finally made it to the wetlands. There were lizards EVERYWHERE.

I had NO idea Los Angeles had a marina. I guess they don’t call it Marina del Rey for nothing. If I had butt tons of money, I wouldn’t spend it on a boat. Correction…when I have butt tons of money.

And here we are. The beach. Didn’t stay long. Had to turn around and get back home. But I did lay out for a bit, just enough time to turn my nose a nice rosie color.

After all was said and done, this walk really did do me a world of good. A mini vacation from my anxieties. I strongly recommend a trot through the city. Its really amazing to see all these places you had no idea were there.

And now dear friends, in just under 12 hours time…its time to not only put on a kick-ass show…but release the Young Beautiful in a Hurry debut record upon the world. Thank you a million times for your support and affections!

See you tonight!

Love,
Brendan
